Calvary Baptist Church

Wednesday, May 17th, 2017

For the dates, May 1 – 5, 2017 Jane and I had the joy of teaching at the Bible Institute for Come International Baptist Ministries.  Jane taught Principles and Methods of Teaching and I presented Methods of Bible Study.  For the two Sundays, April 30th and May 7th, I either preached or lead the singing for Pastor Mark Staley at Calvary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Illinois.  Sunday night May 30th, Pastor Staley had what he calls a Magic Show to encourage the community to visit the church.  At half time, Rodney was able to tell the story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den and I shared the gospel through one of my object lessons.  Rodney said he has never been the half time show before.  The local turnout was great and many heard the gospel.  Please pray that we see fruit from our labors.

As I stayed in Pontiac, Illinois, Jane took our car back west to pick up Caleb from Grace and helped her dad work on a project in Ankeny, Iowa at Faith Baptist Bible College.  Caleb is going to Israel for two weeks May 28 – June 8, 2017 for a missions and college training tour.  Please pray for safety in travel and protection in the land of Israel.  For the rest of the summer, Caleb will stay in Pierceton, Indiana with his grandparents and Uncle Jim, working a job at a water plant and helping at the church.  Next week, May 21 – 24, 2017, we have our missions conference in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania.

COMEBuilding

After our ministry in Iowa, we headed over to Richmond, Indiana to finish some work on our motorhome. Now the leaks in the slideouts are sealed and our new microwave is working great. On May 12 – 16, 2014 I taught a class for the new Institute of Biblical Evangelism through COME. It was located at our home office in Pontiac, Illinois. For this certificate program the class I taught was The Evangelist’s Life and Work.

COMESign  The students were faithful men and women who were interested in learning about the ministry of evangelism and seeking God’s direction in their lives. Please pray that from this class we might see one or two step into the ministry of evangelism and join Come International Baptist Ministries. The home office and sign for CIBM are in the picture.
