Daniel

Sunday, February 22nd, we ministered at Oasis Baptist Church in Surprise, Arizona. They meet in a large commercial office building. Their space has enough room for classrooms, office space for the pastor, a small kitchen and the auditorium. The whole church family came together for Sunday School and a ventriloquist story from Rodney about Daniel and the Lion’s Den. Then, I preached on Nicodemus and witnessing from John 3. After the morning service, we enjoyed a meal and fellowship with a family near the church. Please pray for this growing church as they seek to reach the lost in Surprise, Arizona.

Oasis1One of the men in the church draws pictures during the message to concentrate on the Word of God and the message. I enjoyed reading his notes and wanted to share it with you.

This church has supported us for about 20 years now. We enjoyed seeing our friends again and meet their new pastor Jim Kester. On February 8th we put the whole church together for Sunday school with a story from Rodney. Two girls came forward and trusted Christ as their Savior. Then Sunday morning I preached from John 3. On Sunday night, Rawley and Randy told the story of Obedience and I shared with the church about new seminars that I have prepared for camp and future ministry.

Later Tim Shaffer and I went to the gun range to shoot my rifle to get it ready for hunting latter this year.

On Tuesday, February 10, I spoke for the Valentine AWANA party. Everyone started with memory time. At 7:10 they all came into the auditorium for a story from Rosie and object lessons to illustrate the gospel. During the invitation several of the youth responded and talked with Pastor Kester.   On Wednesday night we enjoyed the Valentine banquet with the adults.

At the end of January, we made our way south to Albuquerque, New Mexico. We parked at Desert Hills Baptist Church at the rv spot they prepared for us last year. We visited the Word of Life Club at Desert Hills and attended one of the high school swim meets that Valerie Wesselink swam in. On Sunday, February 1 we ministered alongside Pastor Keith Skaggs and preached at Charity Baptist. After the morning service, we fellowshipped together with a church potluck. Caleb and Paul Morton played a live chess game (normally they play online).

Pastor Skaggs has found a house just a few miles from the church. The church is growing and God is blessing as they seek to reach the lost in Rio Rancho a northwestern suburb of Albuquerque. We rejoiced that Irina the pastor’s teenage daughter has trusted Christ as her Savior. Please pray for Diana, the pastor’s wife, as she suffers from severe migraines and doctors have not found any means for relief.

While in Albuquerque, we replaced 3 of our awnings. While replacing them, Camping World identified a troublesome clicking from the chassis. God was good! The next day, at Statkrus Engines they investigated the click and discovered the driveshaft and u-joints were solid instead of moving, a seal on the tag axle was leaking, and several other potential problems. Praise God our warrantee paid for part of the unexpected expense.
