Faith Bible Church

July 30th I left Wyoming and stopped in Rapid City, South Dakota to assist in welcoming my Dad home from rehab after his heart surgery.  After seeing that my dad was doing well, I headed to Sac City, Iowa for my next Vacation Bible School at Faith Bible Church with Pastor Jason Baustian and his wife Alison.  Sunday morning, I presented our ministry and preached an evangelistic message.  Then on Monday through Friday I presented our theme “Racing to the Finish”.  Pastor’s wife Alison worked hard to stream the service through Facebook and YouTube for those who did not want to attend live.  We had around 20 kids each day and around 300 who logged in and watched a part or a whole service.  The children at the church had a chance to win a new bike, one for the boys and one for the girls.  Those online, if they answered the questions for each service, were able to register to win a $100.00 gift certificate.  On Friday night the story requires me to get two of my friends out at the same time.  Jane has helped me in the past but this summer she is not able to be with me.  Samantha, pastor’s daughter was willing to help me with Randy and bring him out for the story.  She did a good job and the story went very well.

Members in the church, the Simpsons, allowed me to stay in their home for the week of Vacation Bible School.  The fellowship and food were very good giving me some needed rest and a chance to catch up on scheduling meetings.  On Wednesday pastor took me out on Storm Lake to enjoy some fellowship and fishing for walleye.  Please pray for the gospel and those who need to respond soon.  Pastor and his family are moving to an acreage just out of town that will be better suited for his family.  Thanks for praying for the Silcott Ministries.

My next Vacation Bible School was in Worland, Wyoming with Pastor Ron Fanning and his wife Kit.  I have held meetings with Pastor Fanning in Worland, as well as in Spearfish, South Dakota.  I arrived a few days before the meetings, so I helped pastor lay some bricks for a job he was working on for a lady in the community.  Then we took a trip into the mountains and saw a ghost town that was a mining village in the 1800s.  For Sunday, July 26th, I gave an update for Sunday School and preached from John chapter 3 for the morning service.  Sunday night we started Vacation Bible School with a great attendance of 30 people.  The church family and the visitors continued to attend through Wednesday night.

Tuesday morning at 10:00, the home school group in the area invited me to set up a service in the town park.  We had over 30 children with their mothers attend the open-air meeting.  They would not come to the church; but they would allow me to speak to the children in the park.  Please pray that the message was heard and that the parents and the children will respond soon to the gospel.

Jane is still in Arizona and doing very well.  She has passed her test to become a CNA and now is certified by the state.  She would like to take one more test so that she can administer medication for her job.  Thanks for praying for us and our ministry in evangelism.
