Golden Hills Baptist Church

On Sunday morning, August 25, 2019, I was able to fill the pulpit for Pastor Gordon Phillips in Lead, South Dakota.  Pastor Phillips and his wife Linda took their oldest son to Bible college in Florida.  During the service Rodney helped me tell the story of Noah and the world-wide flood, then I preached from the book of Daniel.  It was a blessing to meet some new families, as well as, see some friends that I grew up with: Skip and Racquel Rice and Raul and Lona Coriano.  Skip and his wife Racquel have moved up to Lead to take care of their parents Harold and Marge Parks who are in a nursing home in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.  Racquel’s brother Raul and his wife Lona are visiting from Omaha, Nebraska.

After the service we ate lunch in Spearfish with our friends the Rice family and the Coriano’s; then, Jane and I took a Sunday afternoon drive through the Black Hills along Highway 385 seeing Pactola Reservoir (where I proposed and Jane said yes), Sheridan Lake and Mount Rushmore.  On Sunday night, we stopped at Rapid Valley Faith Baptist Church and saw my Dad and fellowshipped with the church family.  That night we returned to Sturgis, South Dakota where our motorhome is parked.  Thanks for praying for the Silcott Ministries.

From Monday – Wednesday, we’ve spent the days helping my Dad Ralph Silcott with wiring a phone line and other odd jobs.
