Senior Week

During the senior week of camp, we had 35 campers full of energy and ready for a great week. They also went swimming in the river and enjoyed two seven mile canoe trips down the Spring River. Just before the evening service they also enjoyed a great game of softball. We were blessed with sunny, hot days.

For the morning Bible study we went through the book of Romans looking at words like justification, propitiation, righteousness and redemption. Then I ended with an encouraging study on eternal security and the importance of being a living sacrifice.

In the evening I preached messages on Bible characters: Saul/ Paul, Lot, Noah, David, and Elijah. Six campers responded to the invitation to pray with a counselor. Nine raised their hand to dedicate their lives to the Lord and twelve raised their hands to remain virgins until they get married.

Junior Week

We had two weeks at Camp Hosanna for junior week and senior week in the north central part of Arkansas. We were only 1 mile from the Missouri border.

Pastor Dan Gonnerman came down from St. Louis to be the camp director for junior week of camp. He brought a small group with him to help with counseling and activities.

During the junior week we had 13 campers. They enjoyed swimming in the river and two days of canoeing. I spoke once in the morning for a Bible lesson using my series on the Sons of Proverbs. Then each evening I told a story with ventriloquism and illustrated the gospel with three object lessons.

The young juniors asked lots of questions that revealed that they were thinking about eternity and their need of a Savior. Although there were no public decisions, we are praying that soon they will see there need of a Savior and trust Christ. Please pray with us for the salvation of these young souls.

From June 24 – 29, 2007, in Hardy, Arkansas we held our fourth Daily Vacation Bible School for this summer. Bud Johnson is the interim pastor for this small country church. We had between four to six children in attendance. We also had two teens and around 10 to 15 adults that we put on Rodney’s construction team.

It was good to see the adults united and cooperating together. This church is looking for a full-time pastor and a man to be the camp director and caretaker of Camp Hosanna, just 13 miles from the church. The pastor could also be the camp director.

Please be in prayer for this church and our future meetings at their camp in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. We will be speaking at Camp Hosanna for Juniors from July 9 – 13 and for Teens from July 16 – 20, 2007.
