We held a half week of meetings on September 23 – 26 at Shortsville Baptist Church along a country road in northern Pennsylvania. Because we are not able to park next to the church, we parked at Ives Run RV Park. Ives Run is part of Tioga-Hammond Lake built and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. Tioga and Hammond Lake protect the river valley from flooding. We were able to see a bald eagle nest, an osprey nest, and an albino chipmunk. What a joy as we drove to church each day!

We enjoyed the fellowship with these dear saints. They were examples of faithfulness and dedication as they attended the services. They are committed to praying and reaching their neighbors. Please pray for this church as Pastor Butler and the church family strives to reach this area for the Savior.

During the week of September 12 – 16 we are holding meetings at the First Baptist Church of Evans City, Pennsylvania. I spoke with Rawley Wednesday night for their opening night of Awana. They put ten game stations run by their teens in their Awana game room. Then, the clubbers took turns at each game. They had games like miniature golf, ring toss over pop bottles, suction cup darts shot from a cross bow, and an animal catapult into Noah’s ark. The kids received candy at each station.

On Saturday we handed out free water and fliers inviting people to church at the Evans City Octoberfest. The city had a small parade with booths and food for everyone to enjoy. Caleb enjoyed working with me and the church family informing people of our special meeting on Sunday night.

For Sunday school I will be presenting my “Leading a Friend to Christ” seminar. Then Sunday night I will introduce Rodney as he helps me tell the story of Daniel in the lions’ den. Please pray that we will see some of the people that we invited at the Octoberfest come to our evangelistic service.

On the Sunday of September 2nd, I spoke at the Berean Baptist Church in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Berean Baptist Church has supported us as missionaries for almost 10 years. It was great to see these faithful saints again and update them about our ministry in evangelism.

We had a picnic Sunday afternoon complete with sweet corn, brats, and fresh salmon from Lake Michigan. It was a joy to see friends we met years ago, as well as, meet some new church members that are growing in the Lord.

Their pastor, William Lobb, has been a dear friend of mine for several years. I spoke in his home church in Gilbert, Minnesota several times over the last 15 years. It was exciting to see him go off to Bible College at Northland Baptist Bible College, and now to serve along side him at Berean Baptist Church in Wisconsin.

Please pray that this small church will continue to grow and be a lighthouse to shine the truth of the gospel.
