On Monday February 22 I drove back to Jennings, Louisiana to help them tear out the wall to make more room for this growing church.

On February 22, 2009, I spoke at a church that has been in existence for over 100 years.  Candlestick Baptist Church is just south of Sulphur, Louisiana in a small community called Vincent Settlement.  For Sunday School, Rodney helped me tell the story of Daniel and how faithful he was to the Lord.  During my object lesson which uses “the Pearly Gates,” keys, and cards with worldly ways to heaven and God’s way, Pickle held up the sign that said Christ and shouted, “Christ is the Key.” [Pickle’s real name is Cordelia; she is a lovely dark haired, dark eyed little four year old Cajun.]

Sunday night after presenting our ministry and preaching the Word of God, we had one person respond to the invitation and trust Christ as their Savior.  Please pray for Pastor Robert Degg and his wife Beth as they begin their ministry deep in the bayou of Louisiana.

Our trip on Friday, February 12, took us to Sulphur, Louisiana.  Because of building construction and a new church plant that does not have a place to meet, we are going to park at Candlestick Baptist Church for three weeks.

On Sunday, February 15, we held meetings at Vision Baptist Church in Jennings, Louisiana.  Please pray for Pastor LeJeune and his family as they minister in this community.  They are renting a small house to use as the church building and the front room where they meet has only enough space for three pews.  This week they are taking out the wall that is between the front room and a side room.  This project will almost double the size of the meeting room.   Please pray for Brother Dewey and the other volunteers as they complete this project.

road.jpgOn February 8th, we were able to present our ministry at Goodman Road Baptist Church in Horn Lake, Mississippi.  Saturday morning I was able to go out with the teens to pass out tracks and invite people to come to visit the church.  Then after a quick lunch, I was able to preach a devotional with Rawley and three of my object lessons.

On Sunday I spoke for an all church Sunday School lesson and in the morning service I delivered an evangelistic message.  In the evening I was able to present our ministry with more ventriloquism and an evangelistic message.

We were able to see some friends that we met in Montana at the Lake Blaine Baptist Camp; that year the Scott family helped with maintenance and kept the campgrounds functioning.

January 25, and February 1, 2009
It was a joy to be able to stop in one place for two weeks and just take a break.  We were able to stay at Trinity Baptist Church in Franklin, Tennessee and see two of my friends from college days.  Richard Krull and Brandon Staton are both faithful members of this growing church on the edge of Franklin, Tennessee.

For both Sundays, I was able to speak for the children’s church and even saw one girl raise her hand for salvation.  Please pray that soon her questions will be answered and that she will trust Christ as her savior.
