On March 22 through 27, we held revival meetings near Ore City, Texas.  This small country church is located south of Lake of the Pines.  During the week, we had four adults respond to the invitations seeking to take a step above mediocrity and go against the current of this wicked world.  They have a new pastor who loves the Lord and who loves them.  He has made the choice to serve the Lord as he also works as a mechanic.  Pray for him as he balances the demands of the pastorate and outside work.

Each evening after the service, the congregation stayed for a cup of coffee, a little treat, and some great fellowship.  On Friday evening, many people met for a barbeque at a home just off the lake.  Two hours before the service was to start the electricity went off and the church was too dark to hold the closing meeting; so we had the meeting on the host family’s porch with the lake in the background.  After my second point in the message, rain began to fall and we pulled our chairs in the house and finished the message.  After my message, we sang hymns and songs accompanied by a mandolin and guitar.  Please pray for this church in the woods in the northeast edge of Texas.

On March 15, 2009, I held a meeting at Cypress Pointe Baptist Church in Cypress, Texas.  Pastor Fanion and his wife are reaching the lost in Cypress and conducting an extension of  Scofield Theological Seminary.  We presented our ministry with ventriloquism and gospel preaching.  After Sunday School, I was able to lead a young man to the Lord and three adults raised their hand asking for prayer for their unsaved friends.

On March 8th, I held meetings at the Good News Baptist Church in Katy, Texas.  Pastor Virgil Yehnert is a 80 year old marathon runner serving the Lord.  This small church has sent out missionaries around the world.  In addition to their regular services, Pastor Leon Willover has a Spanish service that meets each Sunday evening at 4:30.  I spoke with an interpreter to 18 Spanish speaking people from this growing Hispanic community.  The Spanish speaking church enjoyed the ventriloquism and gospel presentation through the object lessons.  Please pray for this growing church as they seek to reach the Spanish families in this area for Jesus Christ.  They are starting ESL (English as a Second Language) classes very soon.

On March 1st, I spoke at a church that started four years ago.  Candlestick Baptist Church meets in a single wide trailer off Highway 165 South of Kinder, Louisiana.  We had standing room only in the living room with 38 people in attendance.  In the near future, the church plans to build a new building to meet their need.  Please pray for this church as they go through this building program.

Pastor Larry Gandy says that Sunday is a day of rest so they have their first service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a carry-in meal at 12:00.  At 3:00 p.m., they have Sunday school and at 4:00 p.m. they have the evening service.  At the end of the final service, a man responded to the invitation with questions about salvation.  Please pray that soon he will trust Christ as his Savior.
