Our first planned Vacation Bible School this summer was canceled because of extra snow days in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  So instead of a DVBS, we had a whole family evening Bible school in its place.  We started on Sunday, June 7, and went through Wednesday, June 10, 2009.  It was good to see friends from the past, as well as, my dad and his wife Loma.  The church family attended the meetings faithfully and were a great encouragement to us and our ministry.

On Wednesday, May 27th, and Sunday, May 31st, I preached at the Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City, Iowa.  Pastor Doug Farrell and I graduated the same year from Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa.  It was a privilege to fill the pulpit for Pastor Farrell on Wednesday night as he was still on vacation with his family.  Then for Sunday, I was able to give the church an update on our ministry, and encourage the church with some blessings that Jesus shared with us about the future hope of the Christian.

During our stay in Forest City, I was able to drive down to Webster City to get some urgent work done on our throttle for the truck.  Now the truck is running much better and performing with more power on the hills.
