This Sunday found us at Candlestick Baptist Church in Sulphur, Louisiana.  The fellowship was uplifting to our hearts.   Sunday noon meal featured a Cajun Cook-off:  shrimp ettouffe (ay-too-fay), catfish caubion (Koo-be -on), okra, and a shrimp casserole called blend of the bayou.  Cajun food is usually spicy with seafood and French cream sauces.   “You’ve gotta come and try some.”

In the two services, four saints came forward to pray for God’s help in trusting Him more.  On Sunday morning, we had unsaved visitors : please pray that soon they will respond to the gospel.  I used Rawley on Sunday morning and Rosie on Sunday night.  It is wonderful to speak to Cajuns.  They have an enthusiasm for life and laughter.  They celebrate the joy of the Lord.

Sunday, March 21, we ministered at Charity Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  The first time we ministered here, they were a church plant meeting in the local elementary school on the corner.  Now,  they have their own building and are continuing to reach the community with the gospel.  For Sunday School, I was able to minister to the whole family with a story from the book of Jonah and object lessons presenting the truth of the gospel.  For Sunday morning, I preached an evangelistic message; and I presented our ministry in the evening and preached a message from the book of I Peter.

Please pray for these faithful servants and their pastor as they continue to reach this expanding community with the gospel.

This week, we have been parked at Desert Hills Baptist Church.  The past two Saturdays, I had the opportunity to speak with ventriloquism and object lessons in a local skateboard park.  Because there was lots of activity,  we only had a few who came over and listened to the ventriloquism; but many more were interested in the object lessons.  Please pray for those who heard the gospel that they will grow in their desire to learn about Christ and they would respond to the Savior.  A local skateboard shop operates a repair van on site; those operating the van are involved with the occult; so this outreach is truly trying to snatch souls from Satan’s clutches.

On Sunday, we met in a local elementary school for the morning services.  On Sunday evening for evening service and Tuesday night for Word of Life club, we met in their youth building which is under construction.  On Wednesday night for prayer meeting, we met in a member’s house.

Jane went to college and worked in the kitchen with Pastor Kirk and Joyce Wesselink.  Please pray for this church as they work with the city concerning future building plans.  The city needs to put in sidewalks, before the church can finish their building.  They have been waiting for many years for the sidewalk/ road to be completed.  Our hearts are blessed to see the spiritual growth and unity of this church plant.

From February 28 through March 3, 2010, we served at Grace Baptist Church in Washington, Utah.   The congregation faithfully attended our meetings and visitors came throughout the meetings.  One lady came forword to pray for God’s help in her daily life.  Christie Newell, the pastor’s wife, conducted children’s meetings during the preaching and five children trusted Christ as their Savior.

Christie also works as a recreational therapist in several assisted living homes in the area.  Part of her job is to bring entertainment into the home for the residents.  I was able to speak with Rawley in 5 different homes.  So far I have heard of two residents who have trusted in Christ as their Savior.  Please pray for Christie as she continues one on one with these residents
