The COME conference in Pontiac, Illinois was a blessing.  Calvary Baptist Church hosted us; they provided us with a place to park all of our trailers and dinner throughout the week.  Each morning the evangelists came together to talk about important issues that we face on the road in the ministry.  Then at the 11:00 hour, Dr. Sumner preached on Evangelism from the Book of Acts.   Each evening we heard a message from one of our COME evangelists.

Just before we arrived at the COME conference, Jane broke her food just above her little toe.  Because the break was so extreme, Jane had surgery on Friday.  The surgeon put in a plate and four pins to hold the bone together so that it will heal properly.  Please pray for Jane that her foot will quickly heal and that she will soon be back on her feet.

Our meetings in northern Minnesota went from Sunday to Sunday.  I preached at Northwoods Bible Baptist Church in Cloquet on Sunday morning at 10:00 to 12:00 on both Sundays and at 6:30 on Thursday.  Each day from 10:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to about 3:00, Pastor Sweckard and I knocked on doors looking for prospects.  Please pray that these contacts will result in future members for Northwoods Bible Baptist Church.   They are praying for ten families and have already started the fund for a future building.

On Sunday night, we held a special meeting at Calvary Baptist Church in Superior, Wisconsin.  Members from both churches and some visitors attended.  Two people responded to the invitation to defeat sin in their Christian lives.  Please continue to pray for us as we strive to stir up the Saints and reach the lost for our Savior.

The meetings at Stockton Baptist Church in Stockton, Kansas went very well.  The half of week of meetings were well attended.  During each meeting, we had visitors from the community and people that showed their support from neighboring churches.  Pastor Harlan Palser has been leading this church and helping them to find a full-time pastor for the future.  Please pray that this church would soon find a pastor.

lee.JPGOur meetings in Stockton ended on Wednesday night; on Thursday, we started the long trip to Cloquet, Minnesota.  On our way, we were able to stop in Mankato, Minnesota to see Jane’s Grandma Lee who is now 93 years old.  It was a joy to get to see her again and talk about the past and hear her recall the joy of sitting at the feet of the Savior.  We rejoice in our family’s godly history and the privilege to serve the Savior.
