On March 20, 2010, I preached at our supporting church in Prescott Valley, Arizona.  I filled the pulpit for the morning and evening service while Pastor Thomas Petro took his daughter on a field trip to Washington, D. C.  It was good to see friends that we have known for many years and share with these dear saints what has been going on in our lives on the road.  Pastor arrived home late on Monday night so that we had time to fellowship and minister together for the rest of the week.  I spoke to the Awana club on Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday night I presented my seminar on “Being the Body of Christ.”

We stayed in Prescott Valley all week so that I could ride down to Mesa Arizona for the state-wide Pastor’s Fellowship.  Pastor Christopher Leavell was speaking to the pastors on “Why a Mormon is a Mormon.”  With his unique contact with Mormons over the years, he had some great insight on the subject and it was very helpful.  Please pray for us as we are ministering in Mormon country for the next three weeks.

For this week we left our trailer at Southeast Valley Baptist Church in Gilbert, Arizona and went to Elliot Road Baptist Church, also in Gilbert, for Sunday, March 13, 2011.  I held Sunday School class for the whole church and introduced the church to Rawley with the story of Jonah and the Great Fish.  Sunday morning, I preached on John 3 as Nicodemus asked Jesus the question that was on his heart.  On Sunday night, I was able to preach out of Daniel 3 and the courage of Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah as they stood rather than bowed to the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar built.

After the service on Sunday night, I shared the gospel through the book of Romans with one of the little boys.  Although he did not accept the Lord that night, please pray that soon he will understand the message and trust Christ as his Savior.  We are looking forward to coming back to this church in 2014 for a Daily Vacation Bible School.

On Sunday, March 6, 2011, we had the opportunity to encourage Southeast Valley Baptist Church.  This church in Gilbert, Arizona,  has been one of our supporting churches for over 15 years.  We would like to thank them for their many years of prayer for our ministry and how they have helped us financially.   For Sunday School I was able to introduce them to Rodney and tell the story of Daniel for the whole church family.  In the morning service I introduced to them Rosie before speaking in children’s church.  In the evening service, we participated in the Bible studies taught by Pastor of Missions Gary Davis.

In the morning we had 5 raise their hand asking for prayer that they might serve the Lord at home and work.  During Children’s Church, 5 children responded to the invitation for salvation.  Please pray for these children because they were still too young to understand, but they are growing in their knowledge of truth.  Through the week we are going to attend different small group Bible studies throughout the community.  Next Sunday we stay parked in Gilbert, because Elliot Road Baptist Church does not have room for us in their parking lot.

We left a week open on our way to Tucson, Arizona so that we can take our time and see some friends on the way and stop at some local vacationing sights.   We stopped close to Ore City, Texas to have supper with some dear friends that we have met over the years of travel and special meetings.  Then we were off to Carlsbad to spend one day at the caverns.  Then we stopped in El Paso to see Jane’s friend from high school.  We arrived in Tucson, Arizona on February 24, 2011.

tucson01.JPGWe were able to spend a week at Sahuaro Baptist Church in Tucson.  Please pray for this church as they are in the process of looking for their next pastor.  Pastor James Smith has retired from the church and is looking for his next ministry.  The church has a beautiful new building and is ready for growth.  We were able to encourage the Saints and  challenge the lost to trust Christ as their Savior.  During the meetings we had 10 Adults respond to the invitation for spiritual growth and living for the Lord.  Then in Awana we saw 4 raise their hand for prayer to live for the Lord at school and at home.
