This week I have been parked at Bethel Baptist Church in Oskaloosa, Iowa getting some rest and working on projects for this upcoming summer ministry.  I preached on Sunday at Bethel and on Wednesday night for the children’s group.  The rest of the week I have been working on our web site and on our truck for a long summer.  I am writing some new stories for my four friends as we look at a new theme for our upcoming Daily Vacation Bible Schools.

Please pray for us as we face many miles this summer and rising fuel prices.  We are praying for 100 of our youth to trust Christ as their savior and for one family to join each of the churches we minister in for Daily Vacation Bible School.

COME Conference

On May 15 -18 we had the privilege to attend our 43rd COME conference at Prairie Flower Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa.   Pastor Don Collings and the church family made us feel right at home in this country church in the southeast corner of Iowa.  The board met each afternoon to discuss important issues concerning Come International Baptist Ministries.  The evangelists met each morning to talk about things that we face on the road and welcomed a new evangelist to our mission Evangelist Darryl Zingre.  Each evening we had one of our evangelists preach a message to the church family.  What a joy to see our Come family and get updated on each of their lives.

This year we were able to celebrate twenty years of service with Come International Baptist Ministries.  Dr. Eldon Stevens  presented us with a pin to honor those years.  Please rejoice with us as we look forward to many more years serving the Lord in the ministry of evangelism.

On Sunday after Easter I ministered at the Grace Baptist Church in Commerce City, Colorado.  This is the first time that we have been to this church just outside the city of Denver.  For Sunday School I spoke for the whole family with Rawley.  Then on Sunday morning, I preached from the gospel of John and had 5 people raised their hand for prayer as they seek to reach people they know with the gospel.  On Sunday night I presented our ministry and preached a message on different methods of evangelism.  Please be in prayer for this small church as they seek to reach the lost in this suburb city below the Rocky Mountains.

It was a joy to also spend time with the Assistant Pastor, Mark Alber and his wife Riki, daughter of Evangelist Mike Patterson who also serves under COME.  To our surprise we also got to see Kail Patterson, the Pattersons’ son who is staying with Mark and Riki for the summer.
