“Quest For Godly Treasures” was our theme for Daily Vacation Bible School at Grace Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska this week.  Pastor Ubban and the church family kept track of the Bible verses and team points as my four friends and I told the daily Bible story.  Jane helped each day by teaching the Bible Verse right after the Bible story.  We saw an average of 12 children this week with 8 trusting Christ as their personal Savior.

We found it a challenge to get to Omaha from Minnesota because of the flooding along I-29.  We dropped down on I-35 to Des Moines then across to Omaha on I-80.  Even though we were confronted with several challenges we saw great things happen in this fruitful week.  Please pray for Pastor and the church family as they seek to reach souls for Christ in the South East corner of Omaha.

On June 12 – 17, we held our second DVBS at Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.  Pastor Ron Hemsworth was my roommate at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa.  It was a privilege to serve the Lord together with him in “Rev it Up, Full throttle for God” the VBS theme.  We started each evening with the story of the day told by one of my ventriloquist friends.  Then Jane taught the lesson five times and I closed with an invitation using one of my object lessons. Throughout the week we saw 9 students trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  Nine others raised their hand asking for prayer that they might begin to live for the Lord in their daily lives.

racecar.jpgOn Friday night we had a closing program with Rodney telling the story of Daniel.  The challenge was that we might serve the Lord even in difficult circumstances.  Then we had a professional race car driver bring his 1957 race car to the church for the children to see and hear.  Please pray for Pastor and the church family as they seek to contact those who visited the church this week.

Our summer began with a Daily Vacation Bible School at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge, Minnesota.  The theme for the week was a “Quest For God’s Treasures.”   The church was decorated with treasure chests, coins and gold nuggets.  The church family was hoping to have a high of 25 children in attendance.  We had a total of 33 children and two of them trusted Christ as their Savior

calvary-cake.JPGWe finished the week with a slide presentation with pictures of the children participating in daily events, awards for the top point getters, and a cake decorated in the shape of a treasure chest.  Many parents came to for the cake and presentation.   Please pray for Calvary Baptist Church as they follow up these new contacts as a result of our Daily Vacation Bible School.  Pastor Dave Gerhardt is a long time family friend who has been a great encouragement to us in the ministry of evangelism.
