For Sunday, October 14, 2013, we presented our ministry in Fruitland, Utah at Cedar Country Bible Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Sloan.  At 10:00 they held their morning worship hour.  After sharing a elk burger and hotdog lunch from the grill, I used object lessons and told a Bible story with Rawley.  Eight of the adults raised their hands asking for prayer that they would find the time to share the gospel with a friend.  One showed a genuine concern for a family member who does not believe that there is a god.

Because our trailer is parked in Vernal, we stayed with pastor and his wife on Saturday night.  They have converted a garage into a guest apartment with all the comforts of home including a wood stove for heat.   After church, I was able to take a tour of his meat locker and shed where he processes his deer and elk that he harvests throughout the season.

Elk season started on October 6, 2012.  Pastor Robert Franklin, Pastor Daniel Long and I saw elk all day.  That day, Pastor Daniel harvested a 5 by 5 bull elk and we carried it up a LARGE mountain on our backs using back packs.  [That was a big job]

Then on Sunday, October 7, 2012, I preached for Pastor Robert Franklin in Roosevelt, Utah.   Faith Baptist Church meets in a mobile home.  To convert the mobile home into a church, they have removed several walls to make a large meeting room for their services.  As they were eating some fresh donuts Rawley came out to teach Sunday School.    For the morning service,  I preached out of John chapter 3 and presented our ministry and need for more support.

To meet their financial needs, Pastor Franklin raises chickens to sell eggs, has developed a large apple and peach orchard, and has many beehives to produce honey.  He also drives a big truck in road repair and service for Utah.  Pastor would like to stop driving truck soon so he can focus primarily on the ministry.  Please pray for this growing church and for pastor’s orchard to produce enough money so he can stop working on the road.

On Sunday, September 30, 2012, we drove from Vernal over to Heber City, Utah for a meeting at Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Miller.  Because the church was two hours away, we stayed overnight on Saturday with Pastor Steve and his family.  I taught Sunday school and preached for the morning service.  In the evening I introduced Randy and preached.

It was encouraging to see the Millers serving together with their children.  Pastor Miller provides for the needs of his family by installing flooring – carpeting and tiling.  They still have two more children working hard to finish school and head off for college in just a few years.  Please pray for the Millers as they seek to reach Heber City for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are in the state of Utah enjoying the big outdoors and the fellowship with the faithful believers and thriving churches.  On September 23, 2012, I spoke for Sunday School and the Morning Service at Grace Baptist Church in Vernal, Utah.    In the evening I presented our ministry, introduced Rodney, and preached a message to encourage the congregation to serve the Lord in the week to come.   Pastor Dan Ells and his family just moved to Vernal and started as their pastor just a few weeks ago.

Because we were going to minister in other churches in the area and go elk hunting with Pastor Daniel Long and Pastor Robert Franklin, we asked if we could stay parked in Vernal through the end of October.  The church graciously extended a warm welcome and a place to keep our trailer for this extended stay.  Please pray for Grace Baptist Church as they continue to reach Vernal for Christ and get to know their new pastor.
