First Baptist Church of Littleton

LittletonIllWe held a whole family Vacation Bible School in Littleton, Illinois just 65 miles northeast of Quincy, Illinois, July 7-12, 2013.  Pastor Larry Lindow and the church family were a great encouragement to us.  Many were excited about the “Western Round Up” and we had many visitors.  Enthusiasm grew between the teams Boys vs. Girls.  This VBS based the points on attendance, returning the worksheet, comparing the offering amount, and quoting verses.  The winning team leader put a whipped cream pie into the face of the losing team leader.  The Associate Pastor and his wife were the team leaders for the week.  It hurts to say that the boys lost and pastor got to eat the pie.  The boys will have to work harder next year.  The VBS offering went towards supplying bread to Bethesda Children’s Home in South Africa.

We saw one trust Christ as personal Savior and four raised their hands asking for prayer as they seek to live for the Lord at home.  Each evening they closed the VBS with some great food and fellowship.  Please pray that we might see one family start attending church as a result of this year’s Vacation Bible School.  Because the next Sunday was open, we stayed in Littleton over the weekend giving Caleb a chance to sing a special at church for Sunday morning. He did a great job singing “When it’s All Been Said and Done”.

Camp Manitoumi

ManitoumiOn July 1 – 5, 2015, we ministered in Illinois at Camp Manitoumi with Pastor John Kealen.  Pastor Greg White served as the camp dean and song leader for the week.   The music he picked fit right into the message for the hour as we looked at the theme “Heroes of the Faith”.

In the morning service, I preached a message for the whole family with ventriloquism and object lessons with a surprise ending.  We rejoice in the one young lady that trusted Christ as her Savior on Thursday morning.  Then in the evening after singing, the camp staff conducted special classes for the children.  And I preached a message with an emphasis on revival that we might become “Heroes of the Faith.”  During the week 10 raised their hands asking for prayer as they seek to witness to a friend that God put on their mind during the week. Then on Friday two stood up saying that they want to take a better stand for Christ at home.  Please pray that we will see fruit of this ministry for months to come.

Foothills Baptist Church

HardyFor June 23 – 28, 2013, we spent a week at the Triple “R” Ranch with Foothills Baptist Church in Hardy, Arkansas.  The church family faithfully stepped in to help with the crafts and treats each day.  They even had a boot shaped piñata on Friday night.  During the week we had visitors and friends that came to see us from nearby towns.  From the houses down the road from the church, we had two brothers attend because they knew their Grandpa was in heaven and that he attended church.   They just had to find out what it means to be born again and know that you were going to heaven.  They both had lots of questions through the week and on Wednesday night one of them put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please pray that soon the other brother will respond and the parents will start coming to church.

Our friends Kelly and Lee Russell visited on Wednesday.  We originally meet them when we were accepted with COME in Ohio.  They also stopped by for breakfast with us just before we left for Illinois.   It was so good to see them again and see what God is doing in their lives.  They are now raising two of their great grandchildren and need lots of prayer.
