Friday night June 20th we finished our Vacation Bible School at Elliot Road Baptist Church in Gilbert, Arizona. The students listened well to the stories and worked hard on memorizing their daily verses. For their points they received tickets that they could use to purchase prices from the VBS store. Their games were outside like a western fair. The games included Horse Roping using a hula hoop, Fishing in a small swimming pool, and Throwing small balls and rings at different targets. It was lots of fun.

On Friday night parents were invited to come for the whole night. They heard the true story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den and Pastor Mooney preached a brief message. Please pray for those who heard the gospel but still have not responded in faith for salvation. The evening closed with popcorn and snow cones. Our prayers are needed as several families are encountering various health issues.

Calvary01

For June 8 – 13 we held a Daily Vacation Bible School in Mesa, Arizona with Pastor Roger Williams. Pastor Roger is having major side affects from his medication and is under a doctor’s supervision to find a medicine to help this situation. Please pray for Pastor as he goes through this physical problem. The Assistant Pastor Dave Swope is directing Vacation Bible School this week and doing a great job. They are using the RBP curriculum Arrow Island looking for God’s way in our lives. The church is working together encouraging the children to attend faithfully, bring friends, work on their memory verses and worksheets.

Each day they give me 30 to 40 minutes to tell a Bible story with my friends that fits the theme of the day and illustrates the gospel through object lessons with a surprise ending. Through this week we saw one trust Christ as her Savior and others that have shown an interest to learn more about the Savior. Please pray for this growing church as they seek to reach the Valley of the Sun for the Savior.

Door

On June 1 – 6, 2014 we held our first Daily Vacation Bible School at Open Door Baptist Church in Prescott Valley, Arizona with Pastor Tom Petro. Pastor Tom and I went to Faith Baptist Bible College together. Now Open Door is one of our supporting churches. It was good to see him and his wife again and serve the Lord with him in Vacation Bible School. They used the Western Round-Up theme and one Dad brought a horse for the kids to see on Thursday afternoon.

During the week we had visitors come and participate in the fun. They enjoyed the Bible stories and games each day and worked hard at memorizing the memory verses. Two trusted Christ as their Savior and one responded to the invitation to learn more about salvation. Please pray that these young children will continue to grow in their faith.

This summer our theme for Daily Vacation Bible School is the Western Round Up. Each day Monday through Friday the story of the day starts with the letter from the word RANCH.

Monday – Right Heart – In the Beginning or The Fall
Tuesday – Adjusted Attitude – Jonah and the Great Fish
Wednesday – New Direction – Samson’s Capture
Thursday – Committed Stand – The Fiery Furnace
Friday – Hope of Heaven – Daniel and the Lion’s Den

We have two key verses for the week and a verse emphasizing each day’s theme. We also developed worksheets: for teens thought provoking worksheets with questions from the story of the day; for the juniors word puzzles including crosswords; for the primaries word finds; for preschool – kindergarten coloring sheets.

As you look at our schedule if we are in your area please come to see us.
