RRBC02

Raccoon River Bible Camp is located in Iowa just a few miles east of Carroll. I attended Bible College with the director Jan Kolar. It was good to see him and his wife again and serve the Lord with them at camp. We were there for both Junior I and Junior II weeks of camp from July 6 -18, 2014. Each morning I presented my seminars on apologetics — what every camper needs to know. I covered things like Inspiration, Deity of Christ, Creation, and Why the Just Suffer. For the evening service the messages were presented through ventriloquism and object lessons.

RRBC01During the two weeks we saw 9 Salvations, 6 for assurance, 9 Dedications, 4 responded specifically for missions and 12 were seeking a closer walk with God. At the campfire we rejoiced in those who shared openly their faith in Christ and their desire to serve the Lord. We left camp with a warm heart rejoicing in what God has done.

On Monday, July 14, Jane went to Waterloo and picked up Caleb as he was transported to Iowa by a church work crew that had helped in Pierceton, Indiana at Bethel Baptist Church where Jane’s brother Jim is the pastor and her parents John and Jean Baughman serve. Caleb had spent the previous 10 weeks in Indiana finishing his sophomore year; working with Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Jim; and enjoying time with his cousins. He also spent three weeks with our good friends the Ross’ and Pastor Johnson in Gonzales, Louisiana on the weekends and at Gospel Singers of America in Mississippi during the week where he studied singing and piano.

The trip back to Arizona took three days. We were able to attend Sunday morning service at Bible Baptist Church in Russell, Kansas. [It was a pleasant surprise to be reacquainted with Pastor Dale Lane who attended Faith Baptist Bible College at the same time I attended.] In the evening we stopped in Colorado Springs at Rustic Hills Baptist Church. Having three drivers on the return trip made the trip much shorter.

AlbuquerqueNM

From June 29 through July 3, 2014, we held a Vacation Bible School for Pastor Kirk Wesselink in Albuquerque New Mexico. Many of the children who came to Word of Life club attended the VBS and that was a blessing. Many children responded to the invitations, but we believe two made true professions for Christ.

On Friday, July 4, the church got together to go camping west of Albuquerque and we left Albuquerque for Iowa and Raccoon River Bible Camp. Please continue to pray for this growing church in New Mexico.

Arizona

Southeast Valley Baptist Church was our third Daily Vacation Bible School in the Valley of the Sun in Arizona. It was very hot all week so all parts of the VBS were conducted indoors where we had swamp coolers to keep us cool. During VBS, Pastor Jesse Muldoon wore chaps and a pistol without the spindle for the bullets. Pastor Jesse and the teens led the opening using western songs and acted out humorous skits. The children worked hard on the memory verses and listened well to the Bible stories and object lessons.

Arizona2During the week we rejoice in the youth who responded to the gospel. Three came forward for assurance and others with questions about living for the Lord. Please pray for this growing church as they strive to reach the lost for the Savior. We are thankful for the Pastor of Evangelism Gary Davis who provided us with a van that we used to travel to Iowa.
