Our last Vacation Bible School of this summer we served together at Fort Dick Bible Church in Crescent City, California with Pastor Roger Daley. We started on Sunday night, August 17 and went through Thursday, August 21, 2014. The church decorated for “The Triple “R” Ranch” with wooden fences and bales of straw. During the week we learned some new western songs and played several western games in the church yard. To bring in families from the community the church provided supper with kid-friendly meals like hot dogs and sloppy joes.
The children enjoyed the stories with my friends and responded to the invitations each evening. Jane played the piano and filled in where needed. We rejoice that one teen girl trusted Christ as her Savior on Monday night. We are praying for the others as they continue to think about salvation and their need to trust Christ. Praise the Lord many neighbors came and stayed with their children. Pastor Daley directed a class using a video with modern parables for the adults. Please pray for this growing church as they seek to reach the lost just off the west coast.

From August 4 – 8, 2014, we had 56 junior campers. I spoke each morning with my series “What Every Camper Should Know” and in the evening I preached on the camp theme “Unashamed” using ventriloquism and object lessons. Jane emphasized witnessing – being Unashamed of the Gospel. Caleb and she used skits, stories from her life, and Bible stories. The juniors had lots of great questions on creation and the inspiration of Scriptures. During the week we saw 5 trust Christ as their savior and three asked questions about assurance.
Each day, the campers participated in many activities including horseback riding, the craft cabin, the pool, archery, a BB gun range, and a recreation room with carpet ball, pool tables, and air hockey tables. Please pray for Paul Cayot the camp director and Victory Ranch as they continue to reach out to families and youth in Southern California.

During the week of July 27 through August 1, 2014, we served the Lord at Victory Ranch in Moreno Valley, California. Pastor Josh Butler was the evening speaker and I was able to speak to the Junior High group for their afternoon Discovery Hour. I have been burdened for the youth that leave the church after growing up and have developed a study that I call, “What Every Camper Needs to Know.” I speak on subjects like Inspiration of Scripture, Creation versus Evolution, the Deity of Christ and Why Do the Just Suffer. The Junior High campers listened well and had many great questions. After the week was over six campers raised their hands asking for prayer to help them take a stand for the Word of God and share with their friends the hope they have in Christ.
During the week I also helped in the Rec Room and Jane helped in the kitchen and snack shop; Caleb was a teen camper. On Friday night, we learned of five who trusted Christ as Savior and many others who shared their desire of being Unashamed of the Gospel of Christ.
