On October 5 – 8, 2014 we held a week of meetings for First Baptist Church in Ducor, California. A Hispanic church also meets on the grounds of First Baptist. During the week many of the children from the Spanish church attended to hear the ventriloquism. One child raised her hand to trust Christ as her personal Savior. It was a joy to see these dear Saints in the Lord again.

We were able to arrive early enough in the week so that we could travel with just the car and travel through the Sequoia National Park. I took a picture of Caleb in front of the General Sherman tree which is the largest tree in the world. To top the trip off, I was able to see a bear and get a great picture.

Paradise

Next we served at Calvary Baptist Church in Paradise, California. On Friday, September 26, I spoke for the “Home School Co-Op” that meets once a month in the church building. Rawley helped me tell the story of Jonah and the great fish to 30 children and their parents.

On Sunday, September 28, 2014 we presented our ministry to the church family and for the first time meet their new pastor Gerry Zordel. The church is growing and they are making some much needed repairs on their building.

For a bonus, Pat and Sandy Roy who write and produce the Jonathan Park radio drama attend Calvary and have their sound studio in the basement. They are busy completing the new series of episodes. Caleb did a couple days of sound editing and played the glockenspiel (like a xylophone) for the sound track. Jane played the piano for the sound track. And we all did the voices for several extra parts.

WeddingJulie

We left our motorhome at Victory Ranch in California and headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico. On September 20, Pastor Kirk Wesselink’s oldest daughter Julie was getting married to Cody Maycumber. We spent the night at a local motel and attended Julie’s wedding from 10:00am to 1:00pm. We saw many of our friends from Desert Hills Baptist Church and Charity Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We trust the Lord will bless them as they start serving the Lord together as husband and wife.

After the wedding we heading back to California by way of Holbrook, Arizona. Pastor Richard and Annarae Zehrung were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We stopped on Saturday night and I held a service as they renewed their vows. God has blessed them all these years as they raised their children and served in our US Coast Guard. Today they are serving the Lord at Berean Baptist Church in Holbrook, Arizona.
