ElDoradoAr

June 21 – 26, 2015 we held a Daily Vacation Bible School in El Dorado, Arkansas at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The children enjoyed our theme “Building Lives for Christ” with Bible stories from Rawley and friends. Several asked me questions about the object lessons giving me another opportunity to share the gospel with them. During the week we saw three trust Christ as their personal Savior. The Pastor talked with them and shared with me that he could see a change in their lives already.

ElDoradoAr02On Friday night we invited the adults to come and enjoy our last day together. I was able to share one object lesson and explain with the parents the gospel. We all enjoyed a picnic with hamburgers and hot dogs. The church rented a bouncy house and a water slide for all to enjoy. Please pray that those who heard the gospel will soon respond before it is too late. The Lord is coming soon

Manitoumi

June 14-18, I spoke for Junior I at Camp Manitoumi in Lowpoint, Illinois. Because of insurance cost hikes, Camp Manitoumi has sold their horses.  Now they have a new 1000 foot zip line and a new water slide “the Mantizoomie.” Campers slide through a large culvert and stop at the bottom of a large hill. During Junior week I we had over 60 children from Illinois and Missouri. During the week the children enjoyed the ventriloquism and object lessons as the Gospel was shared. We rejoice that 9 children trusted Christ as Savior. Others responded to living for the Lord and baptism as they go home and share their faith with others.

ZipLineCaleb is attending “Gospel Singers of America” a music school on the gulf coast of Mississippi. Last week when he took his theory placement test, he qualified for the Advanced I Theory class. So he tested out of the intermediate class.  Caleb has two more weeks of class and will join us again after our ministry in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Our first Daily Vacation Bible School was held in Omaha, Nebraska at Temple Baptist Church. This church brings back some great memories from my past. My mother Lylia Silcott taught Sunday school in this church as she attended the Omaha Bible Institute that is now Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. Ladies in the church still remember my mother from the mid 50’s. Jane’s parents served here through college and Temple Baptist was a supporting church of Jane’s family.

It was rewarding to minister in this church with our VBS theme “Building Lives for Christ.” We had an attendance around 30 children consisting of a few from the church and others that rode the church van from the community.

During the week I introduced the story with ventriloquism and illustrated the gospel with object lessons with a surprise ending. We had 6 respond to the invitation and trust Christ as their personal Savior. Praise the Lord.

On Thursday Caleb left from the Omaha Airport and traveled to Louisiana for a three week music school: “Gospel Singers of America.” Once again he will learn more song leading, singing in parts and piano lessons. Pray that he will remain healthy as he has a rigorous schedule while at music camp.
