EauClaireWI

Baptist Evangelical Church is in the inner city of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Pastor David Christner and his wife are seeking to reach their community for the Lord Jesus Christ. On September 20, 2015 we presented our ministry and shared the gospel through ventriloquism and object lessons. After the morning service, we had a fellowship dinner with the church family; as we learned their desire to reach the lost in their community. Because there was very little parking at the church, we parked our motorhome out in the country at Harley & Norma Voetmann’s farm. It was a joy to get to know the pastor and church family in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Early Monday morning we packed up so that we could drive down to Oakland, Minnesota. The Minnesota Association of Regular Baptist Churches held their pastor’s conference in Austin, Minnesota. It was good to see pastors that we have held meetings with in the past. Please pray for the pastors in Minnesota as they serve our Savior in the ministry.

On September 11 & 12, I attended the men’s retreat at Camp Fairwood near Westfield, Wisconsin. On Friday evening, I used ventriloquism to tell a story from the Bible. I was able to tell a story Friday night with Rodney at my side. The men enjoyed my ministry and gave me some great contacts for future ministry. On Sunday, September 13, I preached at Faith Baptist Church in Adams, Wisconsin. It was good to see Rich Eberly and his new wife serving the Lord at this growing church. This was Rich Eberly’s sending church when he served the Lord in the ministry of evangelism with COME. Now he is the pastor and seeing some great things take place in the church.

We stayed parked at the camp and drove into town to preach for Sunday school, morning service and in the evening at 6:00. We enjoyed meeting saints in the church who have trusted Christ as Savior and recently been baptized and now faithful in church. Several in the church are going through some difficult situations. They are all coming together praying for each other and encouraging them as they reach out to others in the community. Please pray for Pastor Rich Eberly and his wife Julia as they serve the Lord in Adams, Wisconsin.

Lakeshore

Lakeshore Baptist Church was started 4 years ago in Kewaunee, Wisconsin a port city off of Lake Michigan. Pastor Ray and his wife Tiffany Anderson are working hard reaching this small town with the gospel. On September 6, we presented our ministry. That day, 50 people attended Sunday morning. I began by introducing one of my friends before preaching an evangelistic message out of John. On Sunday evening at 5:00, I told a story with Rawley illustrating the gospel with three object lessons. Please pray for this growing church as they seek God’s will for a future building. They would like to purchase a building or build one in the near future.

2015090995102433During the week we drove up to Sturgeon Bay and Door County on Labor Day and ate lunch in Egg Harbor at Shipwrecked a restaurant. In Kewaunee we walked a portion of a Rails- to- Trails walk. On Wednesday, September 9, I fished for rainbow trout in a friend’s boat out in 300 ft. water. I filled a portion of our freezer with four trout and one salmon. The rainbows weighed between 6-12 pounds and measured between 24 – 36 inches.

On Sunday, August 30, we presented our ministry at Berea Baptist Church in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. During the summer of 1985, I served my internship here, so ministering here is always a blessing. It was good to see my friends again and see how they are doing in the ministry here in Steven Point. Children that I had in my youth group are now leaders of the church: serving as deacons and caring for the weekly responsibilities of the church.

We enjoyed dinner with my friends Phil & Eileen Trylick who live just south of town. Then in the evening after the service, we all went outside and roosted hot dogs around an open fire. With s’mores for dessert, we enjoyed the family setting and warm fellowship. Please pray for pastor’s wife as doctors try to find out why she has been so weak.

Berean

Berean Baptist Church in Manitowoc, Wisconsin has faithfully supported us for over 20 years. On August 23, 2015 we were able to update them on our ministry and thank them for their many years of praying for our safety and ministry. They have sent us monthly support and gifts to each of us for Christmas and birthday celebrations. I spoke for all three of the services with messages from the Word of God and stories illustrated with the help of my two friends Randy and Rosie. A potluck dinner was provided by the church family at noon followed by their normal afternoon service. Please pray for Berean Baptist Church as they seek a new pastor to shepherd this faithful flock.

Jane and I spent time during the week walking and riding our bikes along Lake Michigan. On Thursday, we enjoyed the Manitowoc County Fair with one of the church families. Jane rode on some of the rides and looked at all the 4-H and vendor displays while I was entertained by the chainsaw artist.
