Emmanuel

For January 24, 2016 we had the opportunity to minister at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valley, Alabama. Pastor Darren White had me speak for a whole family Sunday School class with ventriloquism and object lessons. For the morning service I preached on Nicodemus and his need of a Savior from John 3. Sunday evening, I brought Rodney out to help me encourage the saints with a story about Daniel and the Lion’s Den. Even as Daniel came walking out of the den, we also know that our God is alive and that we can trust in Him.

EmmanuelBuildWe enjoyed the fellowship with several church members and the pastor’s family at local restaurants after each service. On Wednesday I was able to speak for their Christian School chapel with a story from Randy. Please pray for this growing church as they finish their new building just in time for a wedding scheduled for a young couple in the church.

GoodNews

We brought in the new year with Jane’s family in Pierceton, Indiana. We are looking forward to finding ways that we can share the good news with a world that is lost and dying in sin in this new year. Not far from Pierceton is a church that is looking for a pastor and men who would be willing to fill their pulpit — Good News Baptist Church in Churubusco, Indiana. With Pastor Baughman’s help, they scheduled us on January 3, 2016. I spoke for a whole family Sunday School and for the morning service.

Because of this meeting, Caleb was able to find a piano teacher that is willing to teach him during the summer break as he works in the Pierceton, Indiana area. Please pray for this church as they seek a pastor in the year 2016.

Caleb has developed his own YouTube site and has downloaded two videos. To find his videos, just access YouTube and search for Caleb Ray Silcott. Or you can find the two links bellow.

Bethel
We finished our year with Jane’s parents John and Jean Baughman in Pierceton, Indiana. Jane’s brother Jim Baughman is the pastor of one of our supporting churches, Bethel Baptist Church in Pierceton. For Christmas morning the church came together for sing time and a gospel message from their resident evangelist Timothy Silcott. On Sunday December 27 I preached for their Sunday morning service and their Sunday evening service. For each service I got out one of my friends so that the church family could hear Bible stories through the eyes of Rawley and Rodney.

During our stay Caleb was able to work with grandpa and make lunch money for his upcoming Chorale trip to New York in March of 2016. We got to spend some time with the Ohio Baughman’s (Jane’s brother Jerry, his wife Roz, and Whitney, Titus, Travin, and Cadin) when they came over to see us the weekend of our meetings at Bethel Baptist Church.
