Bible Baptist Church

Tuesday, February 16th, 2016

On February 14, 2016 we left our trailer in Lafayette and traveled a few miles northwest to the town of Eunice. On our way to church, we found that we were in the heart of the crawfish farmland.

Pastor Gordon has a desire to reach this area with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. On Saturday I was able to go door to door inviting people to come and visit Bible Baptist Church. Several received the literature and one lady named Michelle trusted Christ as her Savior.

On Sunday morning I preached for a whole family Sunday School and used Randy in their children’s church. We ate lunch at pastor’s home with several others in the church. After lunch we sat in on an organizational meeting as they continue to make decisions about developing this new church. For the evening service I told a story with Randy for the church family and Jane sang a special and played the piano for the congregational singing. We closed with a message from Mark 5:1-20. Please pray for this church as they seek to organize and reach Eunice for the Savior.

Temple Baptist Church

Friday, February 12th, 2016

Louisiana is a blessing with great preaching and fellowship with friends that we have made in the last 20 years. We have been able to park our motorhome at Temple Baptist Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. Pastor Heard has given me opportunities to speak in children’s church and present our ministry on Sunday night with a story from Rodney. I also spoke for a whole family Sunday School, February 7, 2016.

During our stay in Lafayette, I attended two different pastor’s conferences: on February 1st & 2nd at Temple Baptist Church in Lafayette, and on the 8th & 9th on Central Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. At the conference, I meet a pastor from Texas and a pastor from Colorado. These two contacts will help with future meetings. Please pray for Pastor Heard as he prepares for his meetings in Africa later this month and for his wife as she recovers from her recent surgery.
