CentralLa

Our next meeting was on March 20 at Central Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Since this Sunday was open, Pastor Bob Buchanan asked me if I would be willing to speak for a Family Time on Sunday night at 5:45 to 6:30. After arriving at the church, they asked me if I would also be willing speak for their children’s church Sunday morning. It was exciting to speak for both of those services and for the Christian school on Wednesday morning.

After Children’s church one of the children raised his hand to trust Christ as Savior.  Then on Wednesday morning 9 of the children and teens asked for prayer that they might strive to have a reputation that is pleases to the Lord.  During the week I made contacts for future meetings and helped a retired evangelist move into a trailer the church has set up for them in back of the church property.

 BayStMS

We held meetings at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on March 6 – 9, 2016. We started with a whole family Sunday School and morning service with an evangelistic message from John 4. Then starting on Sunday night I presented my seminar “What Every Christian Should Know”. It is the series that I developed for Bible camps. My desire is to encourage Saints to make decisions on what they believe about the Bible, Jesus, Creation and Suffering. Please pray for the church as they search for a bus to start a bus route and as pastor completes an addition to his house for the soon arrival of a baby girl.

On Sunday we rejoice in the four that trusted Christ as their Savior at the end of Children’s church. Then while speaking at a local retirement home a young boy trusted Christ as Savior making a total of 5 added to the Kingdom of God. We were thankful that his mom who brought him to work with her that day. Pray that pastor can find that mother and encourage her to come to church with her son.

While our dear friends in Louisiana faced torrential downpours and quickly rising rivers and those same storms and floods were predicted for here, we only had a light, day-long rain on Friday as the most devastating of those storms remained to the west and north of us. We will remain here until Thursday before we travel to Baton Rouge one of those hard hit areas.

ArcolaLa

On February 19 – March 2, we parked our home at First Baptist Church of Arcola in Roseland, Louisiana. Pastor Bob had me preach on Sunday night starting with introducing Rawley then preaching out of Mark chapter number 5. For Sunday morning I spoke in Children’s Church with Randy and the story of Samson. The church is just off from I-55 surrounded by tall trees and a small pond in the corner of the lot. Pastor Simpson just got back from the Philippines and is fighting congestion in his nose and throat. Please pray for him as he struggles with being able to preach and teach.

During the week I traveled to Mississippi and attend the Beams Pastors’ Conference at Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. Beams stands for Bible Education and Missionary Education. They translate the Bible in several different languages to help missionaries on the mission field to provide the Bible in their own language. The preaching was great and the testimonies of people receiving their first Bible in their language was encouraging.
