Grace Baptist Church

Saturday, September 29th, 2018

Jane’s Aunt Ethel died in Great Falls, Montana on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.  So, on Thursday evening Jane left Berean in Sandy, Utah to spend time with her Uncle Jim and her Dad and Mom who also traveled to Montana.

Meanwhile, I left Utah on Friday for Grace Baptist Church in Kemmerer, Wyoming where I spoke on Sunday, September 23, 2018.  It was good to see our friends again and preach at the church for a whole family Sunday School.  In the morning service I preached an evangelistic message to a full auditorium.  Jane has some long-term quilting friends who live in Kemmerer when we come there, they forego their normal church service and attend Grace. This year R. is hosting two exchange students and they came and may have heard the gospel for the first time.  One was from Egypt and the other boy was from Germany.  Please pray for those who heard the gospel but have not responded to the Savior.

During the week, I helped a man in the church finish a sand blasting job for a local business in the next town. Jane returned on Monday evening and during the week she worked on quilting projects with her friends. This coming Friday, she will be attending a Hunter’s Widow Quilting Retreat with her friend L. and the pastor’s wife from Kemmerer Jenny Hartman.

Berean Bible Church

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

Our next stop was in Sandy, Utah at Berean Bible Church with Pastor Wayne Mudge and his wife Debbie.  It was good to see college friends and new church members for the two services we held on Sunday morning.  For Sunday School Randy helped me present the story of Samson and what he learned about sin in the servant’s heart.  Then for the morning service, I preached on Phillip the evangelist as he led a revival in Samaria and reached out to the Ethiopia Eunuch.

During the week, we spent time with Pastor Mudge and his family with food and fellowship.  Their daughter Elizabeth is now married, and their son Josh is learning how to drive and enjoying his new job programming computers. Jane prepared for our next stop and her trip to Montana to be with family as her Aunt Ethel graduated to heaven on Wednesday morning.  Please pray for Berean Bible Church as they seek to reach Sandy, Utah with the truth of God’s Word.

Grand Canyon

On September 12, we left Las Vegas, Nevada enroute to our next meeting in Sandy, Utah.  By leaving early, we stopped in Washington, Utah and parked at Grace Baptist Church to meet their new pastor and fellowship with them at their Wednesday night prayer meeting.   Pastor Josh Beutler asked me to present our ministry in ventriloquism and preach a short message before praying together with the church family.  I also enjoyed becoming reacquainted with Pastor Josh’s wife Anna whom I knew back in South Dakota. Please pray for Pastor Beutler and his wife as they seek to reach Washington, Utah with the gospel.

On Thursday, we left our motorhome in Washington, Utah and traveled the 130 miles to the northern rim of the Grand Canyon.  After seeing the southern rim several times, I can say that the northern rim is worth the drive.  The Northern Rim puts the Grand in the Canyon.

Bible Baptist Church

Monday, September 17th, 2018

After leaving the state of California, we headed to Bible Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Pastor Mitch Serviss invited us to come and preach on Sunday morning and evening on September 9, 2018.  What a joy to see friends and others who are now attending faithfully and serving the Lord in Las Vegas. For Sunday School I introduced our summer ministry through ventriloquism and object lessons.  For Sunday morning I presented our ministry with COME and preached an evangelistic message of Philip reaching the Ethiopian Eunuch for Christ.  Sunday night I presented five methods of evangelism found in Scripture.  With this challenge that we all can do the work of an evangelist, eight people responded to the invitation to pray for courage and opportunities to reach out to friends for Christ.

Before leaving for our next meeting in Utah, we spent time with friends sightseeing in Las Vegas and spending time in the desert to target practice.  Please pray for Pastor Serviss as he works with doctors looking for answers for his migraines and back pain.  Several friends told us that Las Vegas is showing evidence that the city is becoming more wicked and more public in its rebelliousness. Prayers for the church as they seek to reach Las Vegas for Christ is greatly appreciated.

First Baptist Church

Sunday, September 9th, 2018

Pastor Carey Barnett at First Baptist Church in Beaumont, California invited us to speak for a Friend’s Day on September 2, 2018.  For Sunday morning we had a whole family Sunday School with Rawley helping me tell the account of David and how he prospered in his walk with God.  Before the morning service Rodney came out to present the account of Daniel and how he shared with the world that his God is alive and that we can trust Him.  For the evening service I presented our ministry to the church family and preached from Mark 5 on a living portfolio.  We stayed through Wednesday so that I could speak for their opening service for their AWANA program.  We are rejoicing because several visitors came out to the meetings.  Please pray for pastor and the church family as they reach out to these families.

Because the church did not have a place for us to park our motorhome, we stayed with Nancy Howe who lives just 5 miles away in Cherry Valley. We stayed in her guest room.  We parked our trailer across the street in a neighbor’s driveway.
