Karen Street Baptist Church

Thursday, November 28th, 2019

Last Sunday, November 24, 2019, I filled the pulpit at Karen Street Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska.  Next Sunday, December 1, 2019, is going to be their last Sunday.  Karen Street Baptist Church is closing their doors and merging with Gretna Baptist Church in Gretna, Nebraska.  My goal was to encourage the congregation and give them some joy in all the mixed emotions.  The plan is that those who merged with Gretna will in the future regroup and try to start the church again in four or five years.  The problem that they ran into was that they were not able to find a pastor after several years of looking.

Pleas pray for those in the church that are still looking for a church home that is not too far to travel and would meet their spiritual needs.  Pray for Karen Street’s future and for other churches in America that have the same problem.  Several churches are looking for pastors, but the need is not being filled.  Pray for reapers for the harvest field.

Orient Plymouth Congregational Church

Orient, Iowa

A pastor friend of mine told me about a church in Orient, Iowa that was seeking to become a fundamental gospel preaching church.  He gave me the info so that I could contact Pastor Phil Price in Orient, Iowa.  Pastor Price was interested in us coming and preaching at his church with a clear fundamental stand on Scripture.  On Sunday Morning I used ventriloquism and object lessons to share the gospel through the story of Jonah and the Great Fish.  Sunday night I preached from John 3 concerning Nicodemus and his desire to see Jesus.  My prayer is that this church will continue to seek the truth and become a fundamental church in Orient.

We enjoyed staying with pastor Price and his wife Marsha Sunday afternoon for lunch and a short time of fellowship.  Pastor Phil has been able to meet the needs of his family through carpentry and his own construction business.  He has gone through lots of Physical difficulties, but he has prevailed with God’s help.  Please pray for this growing church as they seek God’s direction and for pastor’s continued health.

Faith Bible Church

After enjoying the singing group from Faith in Cumberland, Iowa on November 3rd, 2019, we headed to Sac City, Iowa for Sunday, November 10, 2019.  We stayed in the motel Saturday night and left our motorhome in Cumberland.  In the Sunday School hour, Pastor asked me to introduce ourselves and present our ministry for the church family.  For the morning service at 10:15, I preached a message with ventriloquism and object lessons.  One young man showed interest in the Gospel and had many questions.  Please pray that he will trust Christ as his Savior soon.

We meet Pastor Jason Baustian at Racoon River Bible Camp this last summer.  On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, we will be traveling back to Sac City for their AWANA program.  Then next summer we will be back for a week of Vacation Bible School.  Please pray that our ministry at the church will be fruitful and for Pastor and his family as they reach Sac City for the Lord.

First Baptist Church

On Sunday, October 27th, 2019, we ministered in White, South Dakota.  I was a student at Faith Baptist Bible College while Pastor Paul McDowell was in the Seminary. This fall a family in Hulett, Wyoming contacted relatives in the church and lined up this meeting.  Evangelist Randy Chovan was holding revival meetings the next week, so we came the Sunday before and primed the pump through ventriloquism and a challenge from the book of Daniel in the morning and Mark in the evening.  The Church was very receptive to the preaching and looking forward to the coming revival meetings.

While in White, South Dakota we were able to enjoy the Redlin Art Museum in Watertown, South Dakota and catch up on family news with pastor and his wife.  Please pray for this growing church and the need to reach their community with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Also pray for pastor’s wife as she is facing some difficult health issues.  Pastor’s daughter has been able to come and help in her care during these hard times.
