Highland Park Baptist Church

Tuesday, October 20th, 2020

On October 4, 2020, I preached at Highland Park Baptist Church in St. James, Minnesota.  The church is praying that the Lord would soon provide them with a senior pastor.  Sunday morning, I introduced them to my ministry in ventriloquism and object lessons with a gospel message from the book of Jonah.  For the morning message I preached from the Gospel of John encouraging the saints to reach out to the lost they meet every day.  After feasting on the Word of God, we all came together for food and fellowship.  Please pray for the church as they search for a pastor and consider the future for the church.

Needing a place to stay for that Sunday’s ministry, I was invited to stay with Pastor Marvin Pederson and his wife at Jeffers Baptist Church.  This arrangement opened the door for us to bring both churches together for a Sunday night service.   The community was invited with an encouraging response.  With visitors from both churches, I introduced Rodney and presented the message on Noah and his walk with God.  Thanks for praying for the Silcott Ministries.

On September 27, I left the state of Wisconsin and headed west to Cambridge, Minnesota.  Pastor Dave Gerhardt invited me to come preach and present our ministry for Sunday Morning.  Because of the epidemic they only have services for one-hour Sunday morning.  We started the service with a photo presentation of the work done on the church building.  Last year their roof on the church collapsed because of the heavy snow fall in Northern Minnesota.  Rodney then helped me encourage the church with a true account of Noah and his walk with God.  I finishing the morning with a message delivered by Jesus in the gospel of Mark.

Please pray for the church in Cambridge as they finish the work on the building and for the uncertainty in the future because of Covid 19. Also pray for Pastor Gerhardt as he looks into retirement and moving soon to Iowa to be closer to family.  The church also needs wisdom as they look for a pastor for the future.

Berean Baptist Church

In September, I scheduled meetings in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  The church is searching for a pastor and looking for preachers to fill the pulpit.  The church has supported us for many years in the ministry of evangelism.  I offered to fill two Sundays, September 13 and the 20, 2020.  Because of Covid 19 they only have Sunday School and the morning service.  For Sunday School we did a Bible study on the hope that we have in Christ that gives us courage through all the questions facing us in the future.  For both Sunday morning messages, I preached a message to challenge the church family in evangelism and spiritual growth.

The plan was for me to purchase a room in a local motel; so I could be in the area for speaking at Berean Baptist Church.  Another local pastor stepped up and said that I could stay in his apartments for the week.  Pastor Ron O’Byron is the pastor of Manitowoc Baptist Church in the city of Manitowoc.  Both churches came together for Wednesday, September 16 and 23 for a message focused on their youth with ventriloquism and object lessons.  The children and the adults enjoyed the services and invited friends for both evenings.  Please pray for those who do not have a personal relationship with Christ to trust in Him soon.  Also please pray that Berean Baptist Church will soon find a pastor.
