Rapid Valley Faith Baptist Church

On March 30, 2022, I flew from Arizona to South Dakota to spend some time with my dad, Pastor Ralph Silcott.  My dad was scheduled to have blood clots removed from his leg after they removed an infection from the bottom of his foot.  While I was there in Rapid City, I filled the pulpit for Rapid Valley Faith Baptist Church.  Preaching four times for Wednesday Prayer meetings and for 5 Sunday Morning and Evening services which included Easter Sunday, One Communion Service and leading the church in voting a new member into the church roles.  On April 4 – 6, I attended the Northern Plains Independent Baptist Fellowship that was held in Upton, Wyoming.

On April 9, 2022, Loma Silcott went home to be with the Lord.  Because of Loma’s health, she was being taken care of in a local nursing home in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Loma Silcott was my stepmother: she married my dad soon after I finished seminary at FBBC.  For her Memorial service, I preached from I Thessalonians 4 sharing all of God’s promises that Loma trusted in for eternity.  Please pray for my dad as he goes through this tragic loss of his wife and for Rapid Valley Faith Baptist Church as they continue to look for a senior pastor.
