Elmira Baptist Church held a Children’s Conference with the Silcott Ministries on September 7 – 10, 2014. For Sunday school Rawley and I opened the Conference with a story to encourage the congregation to attend the meetings Monday through Wednesday. During the morning service and Sunday night I encouraged the congregation to invite friends so that they might trust Christ as Savior. Eight people in the church specifically asked for prayer that they might share Christ with a friend. Praise the Lord some of those friends and neighboring children attended the meetings. One boy is asking questioning and seeking the truth, but did not make a decision during the week. Please pray for this church as they seek to reach the lost in their community.
Jane’s brother Jeff Baughman lives in the Bay area east of San Francisco — an easy drive from Elmira – – so Jane and Caleb spent Saturday with Jeff and his family making applesauce with apples from Jeff’s apple tree. I remained in Elmira to pass out flyers for the meetings with Pastor Harder and the church folk.
